Quick start

This guide gets you accepting your first Orange Money Sierra Leone payments in about 10 minutes, even if you have never integrated payments before.

How it works

Here is how the money travels from your customer's Orange Money wallet to your account:

Step 1: create your account (2 min)

1. Sign up for free on SOAMTAR Business.
2. In your dashboard, go to Developers > API keys.
3. Copy your public key (it starts with pk_test_...). It identifies your account in the browser.

Step 2: add the button to your site (5 min)

No programming needed: copy this code and paste it where you want the button to appear.

Tip: replace pk_test_YOUR_KEY_HERE with the key copied in step 1.

When the customer pays, Orange Money sends a payment request to their phone; they confirm it with their Orange Money PIN.

Step 3: check that it works (3 min)

Once you have clicked the button and simulated a successful payment:

1. Go back to your SOAMTAR dashboard.
2. Open the Payments tab.
3. Your transaction appears with the Successful status.

Going live

When your tests work and you want to receive real money:

1. In the dashboard, switch the toggle at the top right to LIVE mode.
2. Complete your business information (KYC).
3. Copy your new pk_live_... key.
4. Replace the test key with the live key in your code. Done.
